Final Fantasy 14 Open Beta
The new announcement from Square Enix is good news for owners of Xbox Series X|S as they will feature a version of Final Fantasy XIV open beta later this month. Here are some of its features.
- In terms of content, players will get all the game offerings without the need for online purchases (during the beta period only).
- The blog instructs the users to change Xbox settings to enable participation in the open beta. (Which settings? Read the next section)
- According to Square Enix, the complete version of Final Fantasy 14 for Xbox Series X|S will require an Xbox Game Pass plan (both Core and Ultimate are Okay). This can trigger some Xbox users as the game doesn’t need any such subscription on the PlayStation platform.
- The next update to Final Fantasy 14 is expected in summer 2024 and will introduce new areas, allied tribes, visual improvements, and more.
How to Participate
To participate in the FINAL FANTASY XIV open beta on Xbox Series X|S, ensure smooth gameplay by adjusting privacy settings. Navigate through Xbox settings: Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, ensuring settings like “You can join multiplayer games” and “You can join cross-network play” are set to Allow. Confirm additional settings under Game content. Then, go to the Microsoft Store, find FINAL FANTASY XIV, and download the Free Trial from the product page using the “…” option menu. After installation, launch the game, and follow on-screen instructions to embark on your adventure.
