Alan Wake, the classic psychological thriller from Remedy Entertainment is back after 13 years with “Alan Wake 2.” The supernatural adventure about a writer who is stuck in his head continues today, on October 27th, 2023.
Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Entertainment shared his thoughts through an interview with BBC, stating that he has been willing to work on this “personal project” for a long time.
What Took Alan Wake Developer So Long?
But what took Alan Wake so long to be back in the spotlight? The answer lies in the first chapter of the game which was a hard sell at first. It was released on Xbox 360 on the same day as Red Dead Redemption – Rockstar Games’ open-world cowboy-themed blockbuster.
He revealed that the official release of Alan Wake 2 was pushed back ten days to get away from Spider-Man 2 which came out on 20th October on the PlayStation 5. In a crowded field, Sam admits Alan Wake 2’s original release date was pushed back 10 days to “get out from under Spider-Man 2”, which came out earlier this month.
He stated, “I think that this is every creator’s agony in these moments, hope that people will enjoy it and like it. But before it’s out there you have a certain amount of uncertainty as well.”
The company behind the game Alan Wake 2 has decided to keep the game’s price low, which is a good thing for players because it’s more affordable. However, this strategy can be risky because many popular games in 2023 have also been sold in physical stores.
As the release date for Alan Wake 2 is here, people have been talking about how powerful your computer needs to be to play the game. Some gamers are worried that their computers might not be able to handle it.
But when they talked about how well the game will work on game consoles, Thomas Puha, Remedy’s PR chief, said that players would be pleasantly surprised by how well the game runs on consoles.
