MediaTek has announced their new chipset lineup, the Dimensity 7300 and 7300x with leading AI capabilities to transform mobile gaming. Before diving deep into the high-tech offerings let’s take a quick round of specifications.
MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Specifications:
- Chipset size: 4nm
- Processor: 2.5Ghz (Octa Core – Cortex A78 @ 2.5Ghz and Cortex A55 @ 2.00 Ghz)
- Power Usage: 20% more energy efficient
- GPU: ARM Mali G615 MC2
- Memory: LPDDR5 (LPDDR4x) Up to 6400 Mbps,
- AI: MediaTek APU 655 (6th Generation)
The specs are best in class and seem to be more efficient than ever. While MediaTek is well known in the industry it is early to say anything about the AI-enhanced computing of the Dimensity chipsets. On the photography side of things, the chipsets also offer new features with MediaTek’s new ImageIQ 950. With the support of a 12-bit HDR ISP, the chipsets can easily support a 200mp camera that can post-process images more efficiently, reducing noise with MCNR technology. Portrait photography will also become a headline with a 1.3x faster photo remastering speed and more precise edge detection.

Dimensity 7300: Integrates the AI processor APU 655, which delivers twice the performance of the Dimensity 7050.
Dimensity 7300X: Expected to integrate the same AI processor APU 655, ensuring similar advancements in AI and computational performance.
Display and Form Factor
Dimensity 7300: Designed to meet the high demands for multitasking, imaging, gaming, and AI computing in terminal devices, but does not specifically support dual-screen displays.
Dimensity 7300X: Supports dual-screen displays, which is a significant advantage for OEMs developing innovative new form factors, particularly for foldable devices.
