Rabat’s Inaugural Gaming Exhibition – A Milestone in Morocco’s Gaming Industry

Morocco hosted the inaugural electronic gaming exhibition from May 24 to 26, marking a significant milestone in the country’s fast-evolving gaming industry. The goal was to promote innovation across the e-sports genre and drive more talented players to present the country internationally. The Ministry of Youth and Culture and Communication, organized the expo to showcase the nation’s potential.

What Happened in the Innovative Gaming Expo?

Four main sections were part of the event that engaged a diverse audience. The display area, dedicated conference, tournament and competition area, and exchange of cooperation section.

The focal point of the event was the display area that housed over 70 exhibitors, including game developers and e-gaming startups. The conference area brought over 50 industry experts to share their insights and struggles in the gaming sector.  The third and most exciting section was the competition area where 100 players fought in an exciting competitive atmosphere. Gamers presented their skills and won prizes. The last area was more focused on facilitating discussion and partnerships among the country’s and international stakeholders, promoting gaming in the region.  

Many organizations and investment firms were part of this exhibition to collaborate with startups and derive new possibilities. The event focused more on promoting esports growth in Morocco. Takaya Imamura, a well-known Nintendo game developer was also present at the event which gathered large crowds. 

Future Projects

The director of the event, Nissrine Souissi, highlighted the goals and objectives of the event to familiarize visitors with electronic sports. She also made announcements of new projects the Ministry is currently working on. Among the projects was “Rabat Gaming City,” a dedicated gaming hub for the people of Morocco. The gaming city will be initialized in September 2025 which will attract more investments. It will also enhance Morocco’s position in the global gaming landscape. 

Rabat’s Inaugural Gaming Exhibition is a significant milestone in Morroco’s efforts to promote esports in the region with more exciting developments in the years to come.
